Day 1: Arrival

As the golden Tanzanian sun dips below the horizon, you touch down at Kilimanjaro International Airport, where our team warmly welcomes you. A private transfer whisks you away to the charming town of Moshi. Tonight, anticipation fills the air as you meet your guide for a briefing, ensuring you're ready for the awe-inspiring ascent.



Day 2: Machame Gate (1790m) to Machame Camp (3010m):

A symphony of nature awaits as you embark on a one-hour drive to Machame Gate. The gateway to your adventure. Park formalities complete, you step into the mystical rainforest. The trail, less traveled, winds through lush foliage, creating a canvas of emerald greens. With each step, the forest envelopes you, setting the stage for the journey ahead.

Day 3: Machame Camp (3010m) to Shira Camp (3845m):

Ascending through the forest, the melody changes. Shira Plateau unveils itself, a breathtaking tableau with views that stretch to the horizon. Mt. Meru looms in the distance, a silent sentinel. You find yourself in a poetic dance with the landscape, each step echoing the grandeur of Kilimanjaro.

Day 4: Shira Cave (3845m) to Barranco Camp (3960m):

Now on high moorland, the landscape transforms. Traverse the southwest side, passing beneath the Lava Tower. A rugged, yet elegant ballet unfolds as you approach Barranco Camp. The code of the mountain whispers, "walk high, sleep low," and you heed its call.

Day 5: Barranco Camp (3960m) to Karanga Camp (3963m):

A descent into the Great Barranco, a colossal ravine. The ascent of the Barranco Wall beckons, a vertical dance with the mountain's southeastern slopes. Passing glaciers, the Karanga Valley unfolds below. As the sun sets, a mid-afternoon acclimatization trek to 4200m offers a panoramic encore.

Day 6: Karanga Camp (3963) to Barafu Camp (4640m):

Rested and fueled, the trail leads to Barafu camp at 4640m. Here, desolate scree slopes paint a stark contrast to the lush scenes below. The altitude adds intensity to your ascent. The evening prepares you for the crescendo, a midnight climb to the summit.

Day 7: Barafu Camp (4640m) to UHURU PEAK (5895m) & down to Millennium Camp (3790m) or Mweka Camp (3100m):

The darkness envelops you as you commence the final ascent to Uhuru Peak. Steep scree paths underfoot, the silent rhythm of the night guides you upward. Stella Point welcomes the first rays, revealing the breathtaking beauty of the crater rim. The grand finale awaits at Uhuru Peak (5895m), where ice cliffs and panoramic vistas capture the essence of Kilimanjaro's soul. The descent, a reflective descent to Millennium Camp for a triumphant rest.

Day 8: A Gentle Descent Trek Millennium Camp (3790m) to Mweka Gate (1630m):

Amidst the rainforest's lush embrace, you trek down to Mweka Gate. The mountain bids farewell, and as certificates are awarded, the echoes of achievement resonate. Vehicles await to return you to Moshi, where a well-deserved hot shower awaits.

Tipping Guidelines:

Guides: $18-20/day/guide

Cook: $12-15/day

Porter: $8-10/day/porter


You should pay the tip to the head guide on the morning of the last day of the descent, usually at Mweka Camp or the Park Gate. The head guide will then distribute the tip among the crew according to a strict policy. You can bring a packet of envelopes to distribute the tip individually, or you can give the tip in a lump sum to the head guide. You can also give a speech or a thank you note to express your appreciation to the crew.
